NGH Paging Tower Under Review Out Of Potential Health Concern
By MichaelFosburg @ 2:53 PM :: 867 Views :: General EMR, Canada

A report tabled at Norfolk General Hospitals Board meeting yesterday is calling for the removal of a Paging tower located on top of the facility. Several adverse health effects of electromagnetic fields were presented, notably studies that have found increased risks of cancer associated with exposure to these fields. The report was given by PHD student in Applied Health Sciences at Western University Anca Gaston. She says patients and staff at the hospital, and nearby neighbors should be concerned. For now, the tower stays, but the hospital board has agreed to investigate the matter further. It is worth noting the paging tower is in compliance with Health Canada's Safety Code 6.
